My name is Tony DiMaggio. When I was 17 my eye was irreparably injured by the nose of my own board while surfing Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica (near Jaco). If I had been wearing surf sunglasses I would have been totally fine. Less than a month after the accident I was back surfing, this time wearing surf sunglasses. After my accident I was told countless similar accident stories. All my older surfing buddies in Costa Rica told me how the years had fried their eyes. "Why doesn't everyone wear surf sunglasses?" I thought.
You can't find them anywhere, was the answer to my question. At that time there was no chance of finding surf sunglasses in any surf shop in Costa Rica and there was almost no online presence either. What a great opportunity! I got my hands on as many models of surf sunglasses as I could and I built this website to sell my favorites. I have continued to search for the world's best surf sunglasses and I now carry glasses from The USA, Australia, Spain and Brazil.
